Introducing the Evenings blog

The Evenings Team
Evenings.fm home

We've started a blog. It's where we'll write about what we're building for stations, why we built it, and the people running stations on Evenings.

We keep coming back to radio because of how it feels to tune in to something happening right now. One voice, live, at a time you can set a clock by. Nothing about that needed reinventing, but the plumbing behind it did, and that's work we genuinely enjoy. This blog is where we'll talk about that work in more detail than a changelog line allows.

What we'll write about

Expect longer posts about new features: what changed, how it works and the decisions behind it. When we change something big, like how stations connect to us, we'll explain what we chose and what it means for your setup.

We also want to write about stations: how they plan their shows, the gear and software they broadcast with, and the archives they're building one recording at a time.

Step-by-step guides, like streaming with OBS or scheduling a prerecorded show, live in the Evenings docs, where they're easier to find when you're in the middle of setting something up.

If your station does something you think other stations should hear about, email contact@evenings.email and tell us how you run it. We'd like to write about it.
