Documentation
Everything you need to broadcast on Evenings — from your first stream to building on the API.

How Evenings works
How audio reaches your Evenings station, what decides what's on air, where recordings end up, and where people listen. Read this once before you set anything up.
Launch your station
Set up your station from scratch: name it, give it a face, fill your Library, put a week of shows on the calendar, go live and get people listening.
Set up your station
Sign up for Evenings, choose a station name and address, add a station photo, and find your stream key. Everything a new station needs before its first broadcast.
Your first broadcast
Go live on Evenings from your browser, with nothing to install. Share a browser tab, your computer's audio or a mic, set your levels, and find the recording in your Library.
Troubleshooting
Fixes for common Evenings problems: membership prompts, streaming software that won't connect, silent or dropped broadcasts, missing recordings, failed uploads, Always On, scheduled shows and listener texts.
Guides
How to stream internet radio with OBS
A step-by-step guide to setting up OBS Studio for an audio-only internet radio stream: add your audio, connect over RTMP and go live.
How to stream internet radio with BUTT over Icecast
A step-by-step guide to installing BUTT, the free encoder for Windows, macOS and Linux, and using it to stream your internet radio station over Icecast.
How to stream with Audio Hijack
Broadcast to your Evenings station from a Mac with Audio Hijack: build a Live Stream session, connect over RTMP with your stream key, go live, and find the recording in your Library.
How to live stream a DJ set from Serato or rekordbox
Serato and rekordbox can't broadcast by themselves. Here's how to get your mix into BUTT or OBS and onto your Evenings station, with software or a mixer.
How to use Always On streaming
Keep your station playing between shows with Always On. Turn it on from the Go Live page, choose which tags it plays, and skip or end it from the player.
How to schedule a prerecorded livestream
Air a recording from your Library at a set time: pick the track, set the slot and time zone, make it repeat or public, and check it on your Calendar.
How to schedule a live broadcast
Put a live show on your calendar ahead of time: set the time and time zone, make it repeat, give it a public event page, and have the recording saved with the show's details.
Event pages, RSVPs and text blasts
Make a scheduled show public to get a shareable event page, let listeners RSVP by phone for a text reminder 15 minutes before, and send text blasts to everyone who signed up.
How to run an event on Evenings
Run a public show from start to finish: create the event page, collect RSVPs, remind people by text, go live or air a recording, and follow up after.
How to rename a broadcast
Change the title listeners see while you're live: open your station player, click Edit Details, update the title and save. Set it before you go live so the recording takes it too.
How to use the Upload Page
Let guests add audio to your station without an Evenings account. Turn on the Upload Page, share its link and password, and see what guests can do and where their uploads go.
How to build an HTML audio player for your station
Build a small audio player in plain HTML and JavaScript that plays your Evenings station on any website and shows whether you're on air.
How to build a custom audio player with Framer
Add a live audio player for your Evenings station to a Framer site with a small React code component you can style from the properties panel.
How to reduce audio player latency
Why listeners on your website hear your live broadcast a second or two late, and how a small Media Source Extensions player brings them to within half a second of live.
Sol
Evenings Sol setup guide
Set up Evenings Sol, our portable device for streaming and recording from a mixer, turntable or any audio source: record offline, connect to Wi-Fi and your Evenings station, go live, and manage it from sol.local.
API

How to start with the Evenings API: the endpoints most stations use first, how authentication works, your first request, rate limits and errors.
API Keys
How to generate, find and regenerate your Evenings API key, and how to send it with a request as a Bearer token.
